 "Sholay" is a legendary Indian film released in 1975, directed by Ramesh Sippy. Set in a small village named Ramgarh, the story revolves around two ex-convicts, Veeru (played by Dharmendra) and Jai (played by Amitabh Bachchan), who are hired by a retired police officer named Thakur Baldev Singh (played by Sanjeev Kumar) to capture a ruthless dacoit named Gabbar Singh (played by Amjad Khan).

Thakur Baldev Singh seeks revenge on Gabbar Singh, who had once massacred his entire family, including his wife and children. Veeru and Jai accept the task and arrive in Ramgarh. They face several challenges and resistance from the villagers, who are terrified of Gabbar Singh and his gang.

Veeru falls in love with a lively and talkative village girl named Basanti (played by Hema Malini), who drives a horse-drawn carriage. Jai develops a close friendship with Radha (played by Jaya Bhaduri), the widowed daughter-in-law of Thakur Baldev Singh.

Veeru and Jai employ various tactics to capture Gabbar Singh and his gang, including engaging in action-packed battles. The film also showcases the strong bond of friendship between Veeru and Jai. One of the film's most memorable scenes is the "Yeh Dosti" song, which celebrates their enduring friendship.

As the story progresses, Gabbar Singh manages to capture Veeru and Jai, subjecting them to torturous methods. Thakur Baldev Singh arrives to rescue them, but his hands were earlier amputated by Gabbar Singh, leaving him physically impaired. Nevertheless, Thakur Baldev Singh manages to kill Gabbar Singh, bringing justice to his family's tragedy.
